This same sex wedding just after New Years was one of my favorite weddings to date.  Andy and Tim got ready together with their friends at their new condo in South Palm Springs.  This home was the perfect Mid-Century modern backdrop for some of my favorite images.  There was lots of laughter and emotion during the getting ready process which I love because it really allows me to capture in a documentary fashion, the REAL feel of the day.   All the emotion and apprehension and excitement, you just can't manufacture those images and I love when I'm able to capture them naturally.  Tim's son acted as his best man and their mutual friend Gordon acted as Andy's best man.  Their friend Kim also stood up with them and their close friend officiated. They had a small ceremony under a beautiful olive tree at the clubhouse.  Guests stood in a semi-circle for the duration of the short and beautiful ceremony at twilight.  They did a really sweet ceremony with the rings, they were passed from one guest to another with each guest quietly offering their well wishes and thoughts.  Then Andy and Tim exchanged those rings in a ground breaking ceremony.  Love is love and they were finally LEGALLY allowed to show one another as well as their friends and family their devotion to each other.  Joey Lizotte of Artisan events coordinated the sweet wedding and provided the simple decor.
