I love this wonderfully romantic gesture so very much. Tyler got in touch with me to photograph his surprise proposal to his love Bessa. And boy did he put in the work to throw her off the scent! He started by organizing an extended family trip for the weekend in Palm Springs. Then, he contacted me about photographing his proposal… but how to explain why there is a photographer lurking around on a private estate with only your family around? Well a family photo session of course! So we plotted and schemed and came up with a perfect plan for the whole thing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I arrived at Casa de Monte Vista<\/a> before anyone else and scouted out a few spots. Spoiler alert, they are ALL good spots on this property! Its so gorgeous! Anyway, so then the family began to arrive (yes, they all knew the REAL reason for this gathering). So I started off with a big group photo, then a couple of individual family groupings, leaving Bessa and Tyler till last and we had agreed that is when he would pop the question. A Surprise Proposal at Casa de Monte Vista in Palm Springs<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s nothing quite like the magic of a surprise proposal\u2014especially when it happens in a place as lush, intimate, and romantic as Casa de Monte Vista<\/a> in Palm Springs. As Bessa and Tyler posed for “couples photos” on the garden path, she had no idea what was about to happen. Suddenly, he dropped to one knee, holding out a ring box that sparkled in the desert sunshine. Her reaction said it all\u2014complete surprise, pure joy, and so much love. Hands over her face, laughter and tears mixing together, it was the kind of real, unfiltered moment every photographer dreams of capturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saying Yes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The sequence of emotions\u2014shock, disbelief, and then overwhelming happiness\u2014made this proposal unforgettable. She leaned in with tears of joy, ready to say \u201cyes,\u201d as he looked up from one knee. The joy between them was infectious, and the photos reflect that candid, once-in-a-lifetime energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
